Most Empty Nesters have a little extra time on their hands, and some extra spending money. Many, (as I have) decide to start taking more trips.

Local, far, near and abroad. Just because you are not yet retired, doesn’t mean you can’t travel now. Travel whilst you’re still young and experience everything you can.

Even invite your adult children to come (maybe….).

But now is the time. Don’t wait until you are literally a ‘Grey Nomad”; be a ‘Not so Grey Nomad’ and get that mileage up before you are too old to travel anywhere.

Who we are

We are a small group of people who have been through and are still going through the changes and challenges after the children leave home. “The Empty Nesters”.

When I first realized this was going to happen, I felt a lot of emotions and confusion and felt I had nowhere to turn for advise or to help me in this new transition.

I figured there had to be more people out there going through the same situation, so I thought we should all try to get together and share experiences, concerns, solutions and everything else that goes with this new chapter of our lives.

Here we can all discover and discuss solutions with our peers from near and far to help us with this journey. It's the first step towards a brighter tomorrow, and we can't wait to support you on your next phase of life.

Who I am

Hi, and welcome to The Empty Nester Life . I’m TJay (Tabitha actually) and when I started this journey, there wasn’t too much information for me to get the help and advise I needed. So I was inspired to develop this website to hopefully help others who are going through this exciting, scary and emotional new chapter of life. I’m here (as well as my little group of empty nesters) to help with inspiration, advise and pretty much trying to make a go to station, or “a one stop shop” for anyone that is either a new Empty Nester, already one, or a long time EN.

I’ve just turned 50, and I have 3 beautiful adult children. My husband and I are ready to truly enjoy this new empty nester life. We obviously still work, but not as hard as we used to after selling our wonderful little cafe a couple of years ago. So we want to travel, and see everything we can, and experience everything life has to offer outside of our comfort zone (our town). It was a little scary to try new things, but we pushed through and are loving this new time. It’s about us now, and we are re engaging as a couple; it’s almost like dating all over again. But enough about me.

So, even though everything might seem too emotional, too stressful, too much at times, we are here for you. It is an exciting time, and it represents a life transition from looking after a family into a time that re focuses on you (guilt free). Join us, and discover this wonderful exciting chapter, and explore everything it has to offer.
